Selphie Ke is a small rodent-like creature native to Singapore and currently infesting a house in New South Wales. It is often considered an invasive species that steals local jobs, but it can form symbiotic relationships with other creatures such as chickens, rabbits, and a husband. Its daily activities include such horrific actions as weaving, knitting, and playing with Excel spreadsheets.

M. J. Pettit is an undisciplined academic, a longtime reader of short fiction, and an occasional writer of stories.
